SPRINGWOOD

Rich in History

A literal name that is taken from the natural scrub and springs that peppered the area a century ago, Springwood was originally conceived as a satellite development that neighboured the South East Freeway and Pacific Highway, now collectively known as the Pacific Motorway (M1).  Located just 21kilometres from Brisbane CBD, this bright and bustling suburb has a growing population boasting culture and an increasing amount of commercial development.

Ready for the Future

Springwood is home to 3 Shopping Malls, 2 Hotels, fabulous sporting facilities, a library and also has a strong automotive retail trade from Holden, Jeep and BMW to Harley Davidson.  It's a hop, skip and a jump to Ikea and the Mega Centre where you will find retailers such as BBQ's Galore, Spotlight, Howards Storage World, Holy Sheet, Freedom, Bubs Baby Shop and Anaconda, to name a few.  Springwood provides a huge variety of shopping, dining and entertainment options and surrounding suburbs are enriched with larger manufacturing and technology based businesses.  There are also various churches within the community to accommodate those practicing religious families.

Even with a slower-than-expected highway development, it didn’t take long for Springwood to enjoy strong residential growth, boosted by multiple primary schools, a large high school and neighbouring in Daisy Hill, the esteemed John Paul College.

DAISY HILL

Rich in History

Thanks to a strong local wine industry and ties with the Kingston Butter Factory, the population of Daisy Hill grew dramatically in the early 20th Century. This community included butchers, blacksmiths, plumbers, lumber workers and farmers, with development throughout the suburb reflecting the varied job opportunities available for new residents.

The Daisy Hill State Forest holds a rich history for the area, having been used for honey production, gold mining and grazing before being declared Queensland’s first state forest park in 1986.

Ready for the Future

Twenty years later in 2006, the forest became the Daisy Hill Conservation Park, where it has since been used for habitat preservation of local flora and fauna, as well as recreation.  Facilities such as BBQ and picnic areas, toilets and a scenic walking track have been made available for the public to enjoy the use of the park.  Attached to the Conservation Park is Daisy Hill Koala Centre, where resident koalas can be seen from two different level viewing boardwalks. Although visitors are not able to handle or pat the koalas, entry is free and the Centre provides continued support for the local conservation and care of the bushland.

The last decade has seen average property value in Daisy Hill shoot skyward, with the average house more than tripling in value from a shade under $150,000 to more than $450,000. For homebuyers, this shows fantastic potential return on investment for the future.

What more could you ask for from this culturally diverse region encompassing nature, a strong sense of community and positive development.
